WEEK PREVIEW & REGISTRATION INFORMATION
RAINSTORM™ Week Preview
"What makes this ride so special is that when you're done riding, your accommodations are first class...a nice soft bed, good food and a wonderful massage." - M. Leibfried, Minnesota

RAINSTORM™ was designed to offer an intensive week of cycling for riders preferring longer distances. Each day will offer a route of approximately 100 miles. This non-competitive tour is designed for ultra cyclists or triathletes seeking to improve their cycling endurance and their techniques for completing longer rides successfully. Perhaps you need to practice hydration and nutrition strategies. Perhaps you want to work on your pacing, your climbing form, or your mental strategies for staying positive through adversity. Maybe you're comfortable completing back-to-back centuries, but wonder if you could do more. This ride was created with the intention of helping you meet whatever personal goals you bring to it.

RAINSTORM™ travels over hard-surfaced back roads in southern Indiana. There are no layover days on this tour. Lodging will be in Indiana State Park inns (three nights) and nice hotels (two nights), and is included in the tour fee. All accommodations offer comfortable beds and air conditioning, making it easier for you to recover for the next day's ride. They also offer free WiFi, which can help you stay in touch during the tour. Terrain ranges from rolling to hilly; expect to be challenged.

Four breakfasts and three dinners are included; menus are carefully planned for sound nutrition and variety, and include options for vegetarian and diabetic participants. At the state parks, buffets are served in the inn dining rooms. They offer lots of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as multiple entrees and sides. Dinners in Bloomington and Terre Haute (carbo loading the night before RAIN™) are on your own.

You may bring your own registered SAG driver and vehicle on the tour if you wish. We take safety very seriously; any SAG driver or cyclist engaging in reckless behavior will be excused from the tour without a refund.

Minors (anyone under the age of 18 years) must be accompanied by a supervising, registered adult, and that adult must be identified on the minor's registration form.

Registration for 2010 will open January 1 and close May 12.

Please note the earlier closing date for 2010. Changing the date will allow us to continue using the comfortable and convenient Marriott Hotel in downtown Bloomington Thursday evening, and to hand out RAINSTORM™ jerseys at packet pick-up.

A maximum of 50 people may participate. We reserve the right to cancel the tour and refund your entry fee in full if fewer than 25 people register. Please note: We currently have enough riders to hold this tour in 2010.

RAINSTORM™ Cancellation Policy

Please read our cancellation policy carefully:

All cancellations must be received in writing (triri@triri.org) and postmarked or time/date stamped by May 12. Cancellations are subject to a $100.00/person fee; the remainder of your payment will be refunded. No refunds will be given for any reason after May 12, but you may provide a substitute to ride in your place. Notify us in writing, and request that your substitute register online.

We know that accidents happen, from broken bicycle frames to broken arms, and urge you to consider purchasing trip cancellation insurance in case you are forced to withdraw from the tour after May 12. Trip cancellation insurance is available through McKay Insurance at 800.942.0283.

After your entry has been received, you'll get a confirmation postcard in the mail. Please contact us if you do not receive one. Registration packets will be available at our host hotel the evening before the ride, and at Earlham College the morning of the ride.
