May Training Camp will offer a series of century rides from a single state park. Stay at Spring Mill Inn or tent camp in the primitive camping loop, with access to a comfort station. All included meals (breakfasts & dinners) will be served in the Spring Mill Inn dining room.
May Training Camp offers the opportunity to accumulate significant mileage in hilly terrain relatively early in the cycling season. We have scheduled this event adjacent to the Horsey Hundred invitational ride May 27-28 in Georgetown, Kentucky, so that riders can complete both events. (Note: Participation in the Horsey Hundred is optional; registration is on your own, and not included in May Training Camp.)
May Training Camp participants will arrive at Spring Mill State Park on Monday, May 22 in the late afternoon or evening, in time for packet pick-up, dinner and an evening speaker. On Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, they will ride century loops (one shorter option per day will be available.) On Friday, a shorter ride will be on the schedule, allowing time for travel to the Horsey Hundred (about two hours and fifteen minutes southeast of Spring Mill State Park).
The terrain around Spring Mill State Park ranges from rolling to hilly with some challenging hills. The routes and destinations will be different than those on RAINSTORM, with very little route overlap between the two events. Maps & cue sheets, as well as GPS downloads, will be provided. Routes will not be painted with route markings. All participants must be comfortable navigating with a map and cue sheet and/or GPS.
Four breakfasts and four dinners are included; the first meal provided at camp is dinner Monday evening. The final meal is breakfast on Friday morning. Menus are carefully planned for nutrition and variety, and include options for vegetarian and diabetic participants. (Contact us before registering if you have food allergies or other needs.)
Partial-week registration will be available. Please contact us with your planned dates and times of arrival and departure as early as possible.
Registration for May Training Camp closes Friday, April 21.

"A big thank you for the 2007 TRIRI. It was worth the drive to Indiana from Texas."
- S. Switzer, Texas"What a wonderful week I had. Just the right distances to make it challenging. The routes were clearly marked and not once did I have to use the map for directions, only for when my next food/drink stop was."
-J. Schepper, Indiana"I just rode the September Escapade, my first organized ride. IT WAS FANTASTIC! Thanks for all that you do...your organizational skills, maps, hospitality, etc. are remarkable."
- G. Cook, Indiana"Kathy and I rode on SE and loved it. Thanks for all your efforts to make it a smooth, well-run event. It was our first tour and we had a great time. It won't be our last."
